Things To Do

Detroit, MI

We love our city and know you will too. From date nights to outings with Penelope it’s always ready to give you that “When Harry Met Sally” backdrop. Here are a few of the locations and attractions that we love most and recommend.

Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters

Nearby our venue, a perfect spot to stop in for a latte and a slice of cheesecake.

Cannelle

Feeling French? Also within walking distance of the party, Cannelle offers a full selection of pastries and sandwiches.

Campus Martius

If you just want to be outside because it’s beautiful, check out the park in the center of the city. Fishbowl by skyscrapers, you can have a bite to eat, people watch, grab a cocktail or just read a book.

The DIA

If we had to recommend one tourist attraction, it’s impossible to beat the Detroit Institute of Arts. The Diego Rivera Murals alone are worth the trip, but wander around and you’ll see everything from Ancient Greek sculptures to Van Gogh's to Andy Warhol's. And when you find a big red painting with a line down the middle, Olivia will ask you the art school question, is it a red painting with a line or a line surrounded by red?

Where to Stay

Book Tower

The main event also doubles as a hotel where we’ve reserved a number of rooms. Designed in 1926 with the intent to transform Washington Boulevard into an upscale and fashionable intersection of Detroit.
